Hatha Yoga Classes

The House of Yoga is unique in that it offers regular classes in small groups (eight people max.) in the comfortable surroundings of a small studio in a private home. Tailor-made teaching ensures you will receive close personal attention.

Each 90 minute sessions comprises breathing techniques (pranayama), postures (asanas), meditation and relaxation.

Yogic breathing techniques revitalise the body and help control the mind, leaving you feeling calm, refreshed and energised.

Yogic postures exercise every part of your body, stretching and toning muscles, joints, the spine and the entire skeletal system. They also work on the internal organs, glands and nerves, keeping all systems in radiant health.

Relaxation techniques help release physical and mental tension and liberate vast resources of energy.

The practice of positive thinking and meditation gives increased clarity, mental power and concentration.

PREGNANCY YOGA

Breathing exercises, relaxation, meditation and specially adapted stretching and strengthening postures and perineal exercises will be immensely beneficial to you and your baby from the beginning of your pregnancy to the end and prepare you for the changes in your body, mind and spirit during and after pregnancy.

  • You will develop a greater awareness of your own and your baby’s needs, thus benefiting your and your baby’s health and well-being.
  • Gentle exercise will remove tension and tightness and relieve the other common annoyances and discomforts of pregnancy.
  • Breathing and relaxation techniques will relieve stress, increase your energy and vitality and improve your circulation, immune and digestive systems.
  • You will strengthen the muscles you need for birth and for mothering a growing child.
  • Meditation enhances your concentration and your focus.
  • Visualisations further serve to heighten your relationship with yourself, your partner and your baby.

Class Times:

  • Monday 6pm (all abilities) and 7.30pm (beginners)
  • Tuesday 6pm (all abilities) and 7.30pm (all abilities)
  • Wednesday 5.30pm (beginners) and 7.30pm (beginners/pregnancy)

Prices

Each session lasts 90 minutes and costs £10. Alternatively, book a series of six lessons for £55 or ten lessons for £90.
