"Sibylla is an inspiration whose energy and enthusiasm is truly infectious. She is patient and encouraging, and has the ability to boost my confidence whenever I am in her company." AA
The beautiful county of Devon sets the scene for a rejuvenating weekend away. With thrice daily sessions of yoga, meditation and relaxation, you will leave feeling revitalised and ready to face the world with renewed vigour and strength. Plus, during the weekend, you will have time to explore the wilds of Dartmoor and the exhilarating Devon coastline, helping you to rediscover the spiritual dimension that connects you to nature.
This is a unique opportunity to enjoy a weekend, tailor-made for you with like-minded people in beautiful surroundings. My aim is to lift your spirit, feed your soul and empower your mind. I expect you to leave equipped with the techniques to enable you to recreate this experience in your daily life. You will be better informed to make positive lifestyle choices, which will enable you to live an altogether healthier and happier life.
The art of yoga should ideally be taught on a one-to-one basis. That’s how yoga was passed on from ancient times. Hence, I have always tried to emulate this by teaching yoga in small groups.
The House of Yoga, my home, is ideal for accommodating small groups. It is a spacious Victorian town house built on four levels dating back to 1882. Set in the heart of Plymouth, it is within easy access to all the city’s amenities and its magnificent surroundings.
There are three large and comfortable bedrooms, two with double beds and one with twin beds, thus limiting the size of a group to six or less. In addition to the peaceful yoga studio, accommodation comprises three separate bath/shower rooms, a living and dining room, courtyard and a lovely roof garden with sea views looking across to Mount Edgcumbe, in Cornwall.
The price (per person) is based on half-board, accommodation and thrice-daily Hatha yoga sessions consisting of pranayama (breathing techniques), chanting, meditation and relaxation techniques. The free time on Saturday and Sunday will give you ample time to explore Plymouth and/or surrounding area.. Dinner is provided on Friday evening (see retreat programme).
You may opt to stay for two nights, leaving on Sunday afternoon. Alternatively, you may wish to extend your stay to Monday with up to three-and-a-half hours of additional yoga practice for an extra cost of £50.00.
Weekend (Friday night to Sunday afternoon): £250 per person*, based on two people sharing a room.
Extended weekend (Friday night to Monday morning): £300 per person*, based on two people sharing a room.
*Please note, there is a single person supplement of £50 for the weekend..
An advance non-refundable deposit of £100 p.p. will secure your reservation. The balance is due on arrival. Cheques should be made payable to Sibylla Chan. Please call Sibylla first on 01752 560318 to discuss the dates you wish to attend the Weekend Retreat.
